Heat Treatment

Heat treatment is a critical process in the manufacturing of manganese steel casting. The entire heat treatment process is recorded on a real time graph.

Before heat treatment, risers and gates are removed from the castings. We retort to mechanical removal of risers and gates from the casting. Once done, the castings are moved to heat treatment. Close temperature control during heat treatment is maintained to ensure uniformity. Quench time and water temperatures are closely controlled and recorded for each and every cycle. Quenching Tank of capacity 350 KL. (350,000 liter) with additional tank of same capacity for circulation of water is used during quenching. PNG which is petrified natural gas is used as a fuel for heat treatment. Once heat treated, the product is moved to our fettling and grinding shop for de-burring and riser stub removal. Once done the product is now ready to be machined.
